63rd Anniversary of Zheng Fengrong’s World Record in Women’s High Jump

On November 17, 1957, Zheng Fengrong made history by breaking the women’s high jump world record with a remarkable height of 1.77 meters. This achievement not only set a new world record but also marked China’s first athletics world record.

To commemorate the 63rd anniversary of this historic moment, a special event titled “纪念郑凤荣首破女子跳高世界纪录63周年” (63rd Anniversary of Zheng Fengrong Breaking the Women’s High Jump World Record) was held on November 17, 2020. The event was organized by Mme Zheng Fengrong herself and featured a keynote address by Joe Horn-Phathanothai at the Healthy and Strong Nation (健康强国) event.

Distinguished guests at the event included former Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing (李肇星), Mme Qin Xiaomei (秦晓梅), and Mme Tian Hua (田华).
