The 1st International Agricultural Forum is held from May 27-29, 2024, at Nakhon Nan Buddhist College, MCU, in Faikaew Subdistrict, Phu Phiang District, Nan Province. It is organized by the Rak Pa Nan Foundation under the Royal Patronage of H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, in collaboration with Nakhon Nan Buddhist College, MCU, and the Chinese Academy of Sciences Innovation Cooperation Center Bangkok (CAS-ICCB). The forum is supported and coordinated by Kasikorn Bank along with seven other partner organizations: Pohpunpanya Foundation, Agricultural Research Development Agency (Public Organization), ASEAN-China Economic and Trade Promotion Association, Highland Research and Development Institute (Public Organization), the Kasikorn Thai Foundation, Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna, and Chulalongkorn University.

Mr. Jiang Biao, Director of CAS-ICCB, presented plant-based medicine production machinery, symbolizing cooperation in supporting the Rak Pa Nan Project, which is a crucial part of the plant-based medicine production value chain aimed at restoring Nan province’s watershed forests.
Mr. Joe Horn-Phathanothai, CEO of Strategy613, also attended this forum as a China Affairs Advisor to Mr. Banthoon Lamsam, the Chairman Emeritus of Kasikorn Bank.
The 1st International Agricultural Forum gathered more than 600 participants from over 10 countries, including representatives from government, private sector, academic and research organizations. The forum provided an opportunity for academic knowledge exchange and the establishment of research and innovation networks in agriculture to drive poverty alleviation and sustainable community development. This initiative aims to restore the country’s and the world’s valuable watershed forests. It demonstrates Thailand’s commitment to advancing agricultural progress through innovation and laying a foundation for the future. The forum seeks to leverage the strategic geographical advantage of Northern Thailand as the “gateway to the North-South Economic Corridor” to foster sub-regional cooperation in accessing new agricultural markets and promoting sustainable agriculture.
