Joe Horn-Phathanothai Delivers Inspiring Lecture at University of Colima, Discusses Global Business and Educational Development

Since the founding of his firm, Strategy613, Joe has distinguished himself as one of the most important financial and business advisors on China. Additionally, he has also stood out for his charitable services for educational development and for fostering relations between the United Kingdom, China, and Thailand. These services earned him the title of Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE), awarded to him by Queen Elizabeth II. It is noteworthy that twelve years ago, he, along with a brother, created the ChangAi Foundation.

In addition to considering it an honor to visit the rector, he mentioned that this was not his first visit to Mexico, but it was his first to Colima. He explained that during his master’s studies at the University of Cambridge, 24 years ago, he met Carlos Castaño Bernard, a professor and researcher at the University of Colima. A few years after completing his studies at Cambridge, he added, “I started my own company (Strategy613), focused on bringing Western, mainly European, companies to China.” However, he noted, this has changed a bit, and nowadays they aim to bring China to the world.

For his part, Rector Hernández Nava welcomed Joe Horn and expressed his pleasure with the interaction he would have with the students attending his lecture, mainly from the faculties of Economics, Sciences, and Political and Social Sciences. He expressed his confidence that this meeting “will be very beneficial” for the students, having contact with someone like Joe, with his background and experience.
